DAIS joins the EU-Brazil Policy Dialogue on Methane Reduction ahead of COP30

DAIS took part in the EU-Brazil Policy Dialogue on methane emissions reduction in the agriculture and urban waste sectors, held in Brussels and Copenhagen organized by the European Commission. The dialogue brought together European and Brazilian policymakers ahead of COP30, hosted by Brazil in Belém, in the State of Pará.

DAIS Managing Partners Mohamad Tarhini and Flávio Matos joined Senator Zequinha Marinho of Pará and a Brazilian delegation. Discussions focused on how Brazil can deliver on the Global Methane Pledge, which aims to cut global methane emissions by at least 30% from 2020 levels by 2030.

Brazil is one of the world’s largest methane emitters, mainly from agriculture and waste. This makes methane reduction both a climate priority and an investment opportunity in biogas and biomethane.

DAIS works with policymakers to apply satellite imagery and AI models to detect, identify and quantify methane emissions more accurately, especially from landfills. Better measurement is the first step towards credible reduction targets, carbon finance and bankable biogas projects.
